Josh Yerton - Lead Pastor
Josh Yerton and his wife Jen made the leap to full-time ministry after 5 years in the corporate engineering world. After three years for theology/ministry training and 6 years into an associate pastor role in Kansas City, the Yertons were invited to become part of Orchard Hills Church (up in Botetourt) with the intent of launching Restoration Church in Salem. What started out as a 3-year schedule for launch (their plan) was quickly cut in half (God's plan!), as they began meeting with the core team that would become Restoration within their first few months in the Valley. Josh is passionate and excited about almost everything, from college basketball (KU Jayhawks) to HGTV (#shiplap!) to foster care and adoption. But he comes alive as a pastor and teacher, helping people find the life Jesus invites us into.
The Yertons have been married since 2000, and we have added four great kids to the family (Lucas, Tessa, Conner, and Sarah). Jen is a physical therapist (part-time), is a stay-at-home mom (all the time), and serves on the advisory council for Roanoke County DSS.
Director of Operations and Connections
Kayla Fuller has been coming to Restoration since our first Sunday launch in 2012. Though she isn't Salem born and bred, as a student at Roanoke College she quickly claimed this community as her own when she became a Young Life leader at Salem High School. After graduating with a degree in Communication Studies in 2014 she fell in love with the Roanoke Valley and decided to stay around. During the following two years Kayla found herself working as the Director of Communications for the Lutheran Bishop of Virginia. Over a meal at Mac and Bobs in the beginning of 2016, God began to call Kayla towards working at Restoration and in the Summer of that year, she came on staff as the Director of Operations and Connections. She often says that her job is to help things run and help people become friends.
Roanoke College has always captured Kayla's heart and now she get to help students learn more about Jesus and live into the awesome life that he has for them through Young Life. God has created a pretty awesome planet so Kayla is always dreaming up some new travel adventures or getting on an airplane to see a new corner of the world.
